KwaDukuza gears up for new private hospital

The 70-bed facility in Theunissen Rd would offer a variety of services to the community

In about a month KwaDukuza town will welcome yet another new development – the long awaited KwaDukuza Private Hospital, with a mission to deliver the best possible clinical and personal care.

The hospital is set to open its doors on July 17 and last Wednesday doctors, nursing staff and shareholders were given a tour of the almost complete facility.

Hospital manager Ravi Manilal said the 70-bed facility in Theunissen Rd would offer a variety of services to the community.

“There are about 13 disciplines which include general service, dentistry, ENT and neurology. There will be specialist consulting suites, three fully equipped operating theatres, a 24-hour casualty and emergency services, radiology, pathology, a hospital pharmacy, a retail pharmacy and a coffee shop.”

Ballito’s Dr Dinesh Patal welcomed the development.

“The facility is great and it has been structured and planned very well. People who live in KwaDukuza will not have to travel to Alberlito or Tongaat should they choose to go to a private facility.’
