Police minister addresses police shortage at Ballito business breakfast

The police minister is visiting Ballito and Groutville today to tackle crime.

Drugs and a shortage of police stations in the Ilembe region are some of the issues that were discussed at the Ebandla Hotel in Ballito as part of today’s crime imbizo.

The police minister Nathi Nhleko is leading the imbizo together with the KwaZulu-Natal premier Senzo Mchunu, MEC for transport Willies Mchunu and KwaDukuza mayor Ricardo Mthembu.

They kicked off on Friday morning with a business breakfast.

MEC Mchunu urged police officers to be careful about the way they behave when they are off duty.

“That way police will keep their dignity and will still be seen as reliable,” he said.

The delegation is expected to be in Groutville at the Thembeni sports ground at 10am.
