Curro Mount Richmore matrics celebrate top results

The top five students for the year were also revealed, with Shari Nandlal taking top honours.

Curro Mount Richmore joined the list of North Coast schools delivering fantastic matric results this week.

At a ceremony held this morning, the class of 2021 were able to mingle with their erstwhile teachers as new adults to celebrate the outcome of the past year’s hard work.

Jennifer Welgemoed, who finished in the top 1% countrywide for mathematical literacy, with subject teacher, Mr. Johan Jacobs.

The top five students for the year were also revealed, with Shari Nandlal taking top honours.

She achieved six distinctions – in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, life sciences and geography.

Second best was Marliaan Willemse with four distinctions (English, Afrikaans, life orientation and mathematics), and Tayla Daws, also with four distinctions in business studies, geography, life orientation and mathematical literacy.

Mila van Biljon earned three distinctions (English first additional language, life orientation and mathematical literacy), with Lizani Labuschagne rounding of the top 5 with three distinctions in English, Afrikaans and life orientation.

Marliaan Willemse with her Afrikaans first additional language teacher, Mrs Freda Oosthuizen. Marliaan finished among the top 1% countrywide for the subject.

Willemse was commended for finishing among the top 1% countrywide for Afrikaans first additional language, as was Jennifer Welgemoed who finished in the top 1% for mathematical literacy.
