KZN police commissioner to visit KwaDukuza SAPS
This comes after the station had been slammed by Democratic Alliance’s Dean Macpherson for its poor performance.
The KwaZulu Natal police acting commissioner, lieutenant general Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, is expected to visit the KwaDukuza police station on Friday.
This year’s official crime statistics revealed that for serious crimes including murder, rape, and robbery, Stanger SAPS had an average conviction rate of 1.4 percent and a zero percent conviction rate for hijacking.
Earlier this year, the Democratic Alliance called for an investigation of the station after a site visit. DA MP Dean Macpherson slammed the station for its poor performance. He also criticised station management for calling in sick on the day of the inspection.

He called on police minister Bheki Cele to meet with residents and discuss an intervention plan.
However, KwaDukuza police spokesperson, Constable Sibusiso Khuzwayo today denied the acting commissioner’s visit had anything to do with the DA complains.
“I can confirm that we expecting the acting commissioner, however he will be here to discuss issues that we are facing as members of the SAPS,” said Khuzwayo.
