PICS: Five killed as truck ploughs into crashed car in KZN

It is understood the driver of the car lost control at a bend and crashed into a barrier before the truck drove into it.

“The driver allegedly failed to negotiate a bend and collided with a metal barrier. The car became airborne and landed in the contraflow lane. One occupant was ejected.

Paramedics quickly assessed her, however she had sustained multiple injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do for her. She was declared deceased on the scene,” said ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.

Two-year-old survives crash

In April, a two-year-old toddler was ejected from a vehicle during a car crash in KwaZulu-Natal at the R102 and Tottenham Road intersection in Ottawa, north of Durban.

The little boy was flung from the vehicle when it suddenly collided with a bakkie.
