No load shedding taking place on Monday

The power system is stable and no load shedding is currently taking place.

Only 2 hours and 20 minutes of load shedding has been implemented in the past 43 days. And, since it was stage 1 load shedding, this meant that 96% of South Africans still received uninterrupted electricity supply on that day, Eskom said in a statement.

“Maintenance work at the Cahora Bassa hydroelectric dam in Mozambique has been progressing well, with exports to South Africa expected to gradually ramp up from today. Eskom expects to get the full 1 500MW from Cahora Bassa tomorrow, 22 September.”

Eskom urges South Africans to make a difference by reducing electricity usage at home and at the office.
