Load Shedding status: Stage 2

Eskom announced on Saturday evening that it was implementing stage 3 loadshedding. This came after Eskom had originally implemented stage 1 loadshedding from 5pm before moving to stage 2 loadshedding on Saturday evening.

UPDATE: Eskom on Saturday night moved from stage 3 back to stage 2 loadshedding.

In a statement, Eskom said: “Loadshedding was changed to stage 3 at 6:15pm and this is likely to be until 22:00. This is due to a further shortage of generating capacity and increased electricity demand.

“Any unexpected changes on the vulnerable and constrained power system could lead to a change in the load shedding stage at short notice.”
