This comes after the residents say they have been without power for the past four days. “It was just after the month end when we have done all the shopping and they decide to do this. We have food packed in our fridges and it is now getting rotten because there is electricity,” said a frustrated resident.
Residents said power was cut off on Thursday last week and they was surprised when they saw Monday’s paper saying there was no scheduled load shedding.
City Power spokesperson Sol Masolo said he was not aware of any power cuts in Diepkloof, but only in Meadowlands and Dube. He referred The Citizen to Eskom.
Eskom spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe has also expressed lack of information on the matter. “From our head office we are not aware of that specific matter,” he said.
