Man shot in apparent Johannesburg home invasion


A man was shot and wounded in an apparent home invasion incident in Randburg in Johannesburg, Gauteng police said on Sunday.

Netcare 911 paramedics responded just after 9pm on Saturday night to reports of a shooting at a residence in Bloubosrand, Randburg, Netcare 911 spokesman Shawn Herbst said.

“Reports from the scene indicate that a 50-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to his fore-arm and blunt force trauma to his upper torso.”

The man was treated on the scene by an advanced life support paramedic and once stabilised was transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment. The circumstances leading up to the shooting were being investigated by police, Herbst said.
