Five shot dead, including three children, in Montclair, Durban

Sources known to African News Agency said the victims were ‘a family’.

Five people, including three primary school-aged children, were shot and killed in the southern suburb of Montclair in Durban, paramedics have said.

“Paramedics are currently on the scene at Isleworth Avenue in the Montclair area where five people including three children have been shot.

“Unfortunately all five have been declared deceased by paramedics on the scene. The scene is still active and SAPS have cordoned off the house,” said Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.

Jamieson said police investigators were at the scene and that the events leading up to the shooting were unknown.

Sources known to African News Agency (ANA), said the victims were “a family”.

According to a source close to the investigation, the husband allegedly shot his wife and children and then himself.

Further details remain unclear and police could not immediately be reached for comment.
