Two sons of OR Tambo District Municipality executive mayor Nomakhosazana Meth died in a car accident over the weekend.
The Eastern Cape Provincial Government said in a statement it was saddened and shocked by the news.
Provincial government spokesman Sonwabo Mbananga said Meth’s two sons died in a car accident on Friday evening in Mthatha in the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality.
Mbananga said their passing was particularly painful as the two young men had just successfully completed their matric and were poised to take up studies in their chosen career paths at tertiary level.
The provincial government, on behalf of the people of the Eastern Cape Province, conveyed its deepest condolences and sympathy to Mayor Meth and the entire Meth family.
