Four women were arrested in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, after they were found in possession of drugs and stained notes, the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) said on Friday.
Hawks spokesperson Lieutenant Robert Netshiunda said police received a tip-off about drugs being sold in the area.
“When officers arrived at the house, they found four women and upon executing the search warrant, mandrax tablets valued at R135,000, 45 live rounds as well as R1,250 in cash were found,” he said.
“A further search also revealed stained money totaling R8,170.”
A vehicle that was reported stolen was found in the yard and subsequently seized.
The four women, aged between 21 and 53, would appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates’ Court on Monday to face charges of dealing in drugs.
