The murdered 78-year-old Kempton Park woman, who allegedly died at the hands of her son and his girlfriend, will be buried on Tuesday.

Her body was found in Bronkhorstspruit on Sunday, almost five days after she had been reported missing by family and friends, Kempton Express reported.

According to Kempton Park police spokesperson, Captain Jethro Mtshali, her son and his girlfriend confessed to killing the 78-year-old woman and dumping her body in Mpumalanga.

The couple allegedly beat her to death in their Spekboom home following an argument on Monday and allegedly dumped the body on Wednesday.

Her partially decomposed body was found in a veld by a group of women who were walking home from church.

The couple have since made two brief appearances in Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court where the case was remanded on both occasions to allow them to obtain legal representation.

They are expected to appear again on Wednesday next week. Both suspects remain in police custody.
