Two robbers linked to a house robbery in Van Riebeeck Park on the East Rand have been arrested.

This after CCTV footage emerged showing the suspects’ vehicle pulling over in front of the gate of the house last Sunday.

Two of the suspects are seen exiting the car and lifting the gate off its rails. The suspects’ vehicle then reverses into the yard.

Norkem Park police spokesperson Captain Lesibana Molokomme said a woman and her two children were at home when armed robbers, driving a silver Mercedez Benz, lifted the gate off its rails and broke into the house.

After holding up the victims, the four suspects fled the scene in the Mercedes with approximately R200 000 worth of goods, Kempton Express reported.

“At 10am on Tuesday, members of the trio task team from Tembisa cluster arrested two suspects in Alexandra for house robbery. The task team was following information received from the victim of the robbery,” said Molokomme.

The two suspects, aged 45 and 31, will face charges of house robbery.
