Sam Meyiwa, the father to slain Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalminder, Senzo, is not a happy man.
This after Pirates chairman Irvin Khoza reportedly informed the Premier Soccer League (PSL) members that the insurance policy for Meyiwa had been paid out, with minor details to be finalised before the family can receive the money.
Khoza who is also the PSL boss, was also quoted saying at the time that they are in the process of informing the Meyiwa family. However, when contacted by The Citizen on Wednesday afternoon, Meyiwa senior said the family has not heard anything yet regarding the policy payout.
“I am very angry at Khoza and the PSL for deciding to make this news public without informing us as family first….It is totally wrong what they did.
“I have in the past been trying to call Khoza and sent him messages but he never replied,” said Meyiwa.
He said he was also now fearing for his own safety following the reports that a payout would soon be made to the Meyiwa family.
“I am even afraid to leave my own house now because I don’t know who might be watching me after reading about the payout issue,” Meyiwa added.
Meanwhile the PSL refused to be drawn into commenting on the matter.
