Vehicle carrying matric exam papers involved in crash

A vehicle carrying English paper 1 exam papers for grade 12 pupils was involved in an accident early today, just before the pupils were supposed to write their first paper for the final matric exams.

The incident happened in Boqa Village, in the Mokwakwaila area in Limpopo, Letaba Herald reported.

The vehicle was transporting papers for nine high schools under the Molototsi circuit when the driver lost control and had an accident.

Department of Education spokesperson Dr Naledzani Rasila said after the accident, the driver immediately called the circuit office and the chief invigilator hurried to the scene to transport the papers to where they were supposed to be delivered.

“The accident never impacted on the exam writing, the learners wrote their English exam on time,” he added.

The Economic Freedom Fighters’ Mopani region secretary Clement Ramathoka said the particular road was very bad and the municipality already promised years ago to fix it.
