Prosecutor Tory Pretorius said the State was busy with negotiations that could shorten the trial significantly. The matter was postponed to Wednesday. The trial was set down to start on November 18.
Mark Trollip, 48, and Johan Hendrik Prinsloo, 49, face charges of high treason for their alleged involvement in plans to bomb the African National Congress’s national conference in Mangaung last December.
According to the charge sheet, Trollip and Prinsloo planned to acquire weaponry such as AK-47, R1 and R4 rifles to execute the coup.
They remain in custody.
