A photo of boys from prestigious KwaZulu-Natal school Hilton College has sparked uproar online for the learners’ simulation of a rape scene.
The photo, shared on Instagram, shows the learners crowded around another boy dressed in St. Anne’s School uniform, with one learner standing behind him as he is bent over and another with his crotch in the boy’s face.
Hilton College headmaster Peter Ducasse said in a statement: “One of our boys posted a highly offensive photograph on Instagram. We are appalled and cannot condemn this sufficiently strongly. It flies in the face of all that the school stands for and teaches.”
“We are urgently investigating the matter and view it in a very serious light. We will take appropriate disciplinary action once the investigation is complete,” he added.
Dave Argyle, head of St Anne’s Girls School, told Daily News the school was made aware of the picture yesterday and that it was a slur on all women.
The response on Twitter:
The Hilton College IG furore should infuriate us all. Rape culture wins again. Ngiyakhala ngemali yabazali *long whistle*

This Hilton College thing is sickening as it is. Seeing people excuse these boys' behaviour is even more chilling.

What the fresh hell is this @hilton_college? Is this how you teach your boys to treat women? As a St Anne's old girl I am appalled by this
