Colonel Emelda Setlhako said police were patrolling in Rockville on Tuesday when residents informed them that a man had hanged himself inside a house.
When they arrived at the house police found the body of a 35-year-old man who had hanged himself with wire in the dining room.
“They also found a 38-year-old woman lying on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood,” she said.
“Her hands were tied behind her back with a wire and she had open wounds on her neck, [her] right foot was chopped off, and [her] left fingers cut off.
An axe and a grinder were found next to her body with blood stains on.”
Setlhako said police were investigating a case of murder and an inquest had been opened.
Investigations continued, she said.
