“A 24-year-old suspect has been arrested at Nkwezela area, Himeville. He is appearing today [Thursday] in the Himeville Magistrates’ Court on a charge of murder,” said Captain Thulani Zwane.

The man and three others allegedly pounced on Dan Knight, 56, and his wife at their home in Underberg on October 17.

Knight’s feet and hands were tied and his mouth was covered and he was assaulted until he died.

His wife was locked in the toilet but later escaped through the window to alert her neighbours and the police.

The men stole a Toyota Land Cruiser, Isuzu bakkie, cellphone and three shotguns, said Zwane.

The other three were arrested on October 20, and had already appeared in court.
