Captain Thulani Zwane said the man was arrested on Monday.

“The Bolivian man who was on a flight from Brazil via Dubai was arrested when he arrived at 5pm.”

Zwane said the police and customs officials had already received information that the drugs were en-route to Durban.

“The suspect was identified and intercepted. His luggage was searched and officials found two parcels containing a total 2kg of cocaine with a street value of approximately R600,000.”

He was arrested and charged with dealing in drugs. He was due to appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
