It is alleged the driver asked one of the petrol attendants to buy him cigarette at the garage. Shortly afterwards, the driver apparently lost control of the brake pedals and the car slammed into the garage.
Hoedspruit police spokesperson Constable Livhuwani Mulaudzi said police arrived on the scene and found the car had damaged the garage.

“Blood tests (were) conducted, but I would not divulge as to whether the driver was drunk or not,” she said.

Mulaudzi said damage caused by the crash had not been established. No injuries were reported. Investigations are ongoing.

In a separate incident, a car “flew” into a house in KwaMakhutha township, south of Durban, in July.

According to ER24 paramedics, when they arrived on the scene they found nobody injured. Witnesses in the area said “the car was flying”.

“One person who was sleeping in the house was woken up by the car falling on the house,” said ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw.

The driver of the vehicle explained he drove over a “ramp” of some sort, which led him to crash into the house.
