A collision between a car and taxi at 11.40pm on Saturday night has left twelve people injured, paramedics have confirmed.

The accident occurred at the William Nichol and Bryanston roads intersection, Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said in a statement.

At present, details of the cause of the accident are still “speculative”, and as such, would remain a subject for police investigation.

Netcare 911 paramedics and their rescue unit arrived at the scene and after triaging, found that 12 people had sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor.

After medics treated the patients at the scene they transported them to various hospitals in the area for the care they required, Botha said.
