Cape Town music promoter David Forbes is due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Friday on a charge of murder.

Forbes, the founder of Boksburg’s H20 parties and also a consultant to the Ultra Music Festival SA, is to go on trial for the alleged murder of alleged ticket tout Toufiq Joseph at a city petrol station in January.

It is alleged that Forbes shot dead 23-year-old Joseph at the Engen garage in Orange Street in the CBD on January 24, in full view of shocked customers.

Forbes is out on R20,000 bail.

His case is likely to be transferred to the regional court on Friday and a trial date will be set.
