Eastern Cape police appealed to residents of Kenton-on-Sea on Tuesday for help in finding a hit-and-run driver.

“We are asking for help from anyone who may have witnessed the incident, suspected to be a car accident, that left a 71-year-old woman dead,” Lieutenant Luvuyo Mjekula said in a statement.

Nontisi Sonanze’s body was found next to the R72 near Klipfontein on Monday morning. She was last seen alive in Alexandria on Sunday.

“Yesterday [Monday], a post mortem revealed that she had serious internal injuries and that she was probably hit by a vehicle,” Mjekula said.
