Kagiso police caught him in Meadowlands extension 10 after a tip-off, Lt-Col Katlego Mogale said.
He allegedly raped the 17-year-old girl and stabbed her in the neck with a pair of scissors after breaking into her house in Rietvallei, on the West Rand, around 9am.
She was rushed to hospital in a serious but stable condition. The man would appear in the Kagiso Magistrate’s Court soon.
