Western Cape police confiscate drugs worth over R4m

Western Cape police have seized a variety of drugs worth over R4 million.

Police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said K-9 police searched a cooler truck on Saturday and arrested a 41-year-man old suspect after he was found in possession of six boxes containing 59,000 mandrax tablets with estimated street value of R2,950,000 and 3.358kg of tik with estimated value of R1,175,300.

In a separate incident on Saturday night, police in the Karoo, assisted by K-9 police, received information of a person transporting dagga in a train. A preliminary investigation was conducted and it led to the arrest of a 37-year-old female suspect for possession of dagga of about 25.5kg with estimated street value of R51,000.
