A 34-year-old woman was arrested after she was allegedly found with hundreds of parcels of dagga with an estimated street value of about R20,000 in Durbanville on Thursday, the City of Cape Town said.

“The Cape Town Metro Police’s Gang and Drug Task Team, K9 unit and Special Investigating Unit followed up on information of a drug delivery at a house in Fisantekraal, Durbanville. This lead led to the arrest of a female suspect when 306 parcels were found and confiscated,” said Yolande Faro, the city’s deputy metro police chief.

Faro said the woman was arrested just after 10am when police found barrels inside the house with newspaper wrapped parcels with dagga inside them.

The woman was taken to the Durbanville police station where she will be held until her court appearance. A date for her court appearance is to be announced.
