Police in Cape Town on Tuesday arrested a 26-year-old woman for being in possession of compressed dagga estimated at R2 million.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut said: “This afternoon members of a specialised provincial drug team followed up on information and searched a residence in 16th Avenue in Philippi where a 26-year-old female was arrested for being in possession of compressed dagga estimated at R2 million.

“The contraband was neatly packed in boxes and parcels creating the impression that it was deemed for distribution. A large amount of cash was also seized. The suspect who is due in court tomorrow was alone at home during the raid. The circumstances surrounding the discovery are being investigated and the possibility of further arrests is not ruled out.”
