Spokesman Robert Mckenzie said the incident happened near the Dassenhoek train station.

“Reports from the scene indicate that a 25-year-old man is believed to have fallen from a train, after trying to board the train after it had reportedly just started to pull away.”

Paramedics responded to the case and found that the man had sustained serious injuries, and was treated before being transported to RK Khans hospital for continued medical care.

The circumstances surrounding the incident would be investigated.
