Two arrested for attempting to break open NWest ATM

Two men are expected to appear in the Itsoseng Magistrate’s Court on Monday after they allegedly tried to break into an ATM in Bodibe near Litchtenburg, North West police said on Monday.

Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said the two, aged 26 and 28, were arrested on Sunday after they attempted to cut through the wall of a shop to access the Automatic Teller Machine [ATM].

“It is alleged that seven suspects tried to rob an Automatic Teller Machine which is inside a shop in Bodibe by grinding the wall of the shop. Allegations states that the alarm went off and the police immediately reacted upon it.”

She said seven people were found on the scene. “The police managed to arrest two suspects while five managed to escape and are still at large. “
