Crowd gathers at Union Buildings for Freedom Day address

A large crowd filed into the Union Buildings in Pretoria, and gathered on the lawn for the annual Freedom Day commemorations on Monday morning.

Many wore wearing yellow African National Congress t-shirt. Some were in green and black ANC Women’s League regalia. They say and chanted, waving the national flag, as they walked in.

President Jacob Zuma is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the event.

The celebrations this year mark 21 years since of the advent of democracy and are being held under the theme “Celebrating the third decade of our freedom through accelerating radical economic transformation”.
