Two men have been arrested after a 25-year-old man was stabbed to death in Marabastad, Pretoria.

Police spokesperson Captain Augustinah Selepe said the man was stabbed in the chest. It is still unknown what object was used for the killing, Rekord East reported.

“It is alleged the deceased and the suspects used to spend a lot of time together as they were all identified as Nyaope smokers,” added Selepe.

Selepe said the deceased’s family has not been notified yet. It is difficult to locate families in these cases because these people stay in the streets of Pretoria by themselves.

The motive for the killing remains unknown. The two suspects appeared at the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court today.

Last month, a man was stabbed to death in an alleged fight in Pretoria West.

Police spokesperson Captain Reed Steynberg said the man in his 30s was found dead near the Fresh Produce Market.

“It is believed two men were fighting, and one was stabbed. Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene,” added Steynberg.
