A 40-year-old man has been arrested for murder after he allegedly found the deceased sleeping with his wife in Bangani Location, Dutywa, Eastern Cape.

Police spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha said the suspect assaulted the man with a stick on the upper body.

When police arrived at the scene, police found the 28-year-old man dead. They arrested the suspect and charged him for murder, added Manatha.

The suspect will appear in the Dutywa Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

In a separate incident, a man killed himself after seriously wounding his ex-wife’s boyfriend in Centurion, south of Pretoria in February.

“The ex-husband went to his ex-wife’s house and found her with her new boyfriend. He shot the boyfriend twice before turning the gun on himself. He shot himself in the head,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Ann Poortman.

Poortman added the man died on the scene, while the boyfriend was hit in the chest and upper left arm.

An inquest docket was opened, and a case of attempted murder was being investigated.
