Man critically injured in Joburg accident

Two men were injured in a two vehicle collision on the N1, between Malibongwe and Beyers Naude, on Tuesday in Randburg.

ER24 said they found one light motor vehicle lying on the left side of the highway, while the second vehicle lay in the middle island.

Both vehicles had sustained severe damage, and one of the drivers was found lying in his vehicle in a critical condition while the driver of the other vehicle was found walking around with minor injuries, when the paramedics arrived on the scene.

The critically injured patient was removed from his vehicle and provided with advanced life support, and once stable, was taken to Life Fourways Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

The second patient was treated for minor injuries and taken to Yusuf Dadoo Hospital for further observation.

It’s understood that the one vehicle rearended the other. Local authorities were on the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
