Police confirmed the girl escaped the next day after she was threatened with death by one of the suspects.
The girl had been sent by her grandmother to a shop on Friday when she was forced to a house by a person known to her, where she was allegedly raped.
On Saturday, while still at the house, a friend of the first suspect also allegedly raped the girl. It is believed the girl escaped after meeting with a woman at the same house, who asked her to assist with washing dishes.
“The three suspects, aged between 24 and 29, from Chris Hani Park, Tseki Village are expected to appear before the Tseki Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 17, facing charges of rape and kidnapping,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Mmako Mophiring.
This after a man was arrested for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in Zazela Village, Ngqamakhwe, in the Eastern Cape earlier this month.
Police said the girl had gone to the toilet below the garden of her home when she was allegedly dragged and raped by the 26-year-old man.
A case of rape was later opened at Ngqamakhwe Police Station.
