Pretoria West man stabbed to death

A case of murder has been opened after a man was stabbed to death in an alleged fight in Pretoria West.

Police spokesperson Captain Reed Steynberg said a man in his 30s was found dead near the Fresh Produce Market in Pretoria West, Rekord Moot reported.

“It is believed two men were fighting, and one was stabbed. Paramedics declared the man died at the scene from wounds he sustained,” added Steynberg.

The suspect fled the scene. Investigations are ongoing.

This after a man was stabbed to death at a shebeen in Vlakplaas, near Pretoria on Sunday. Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya said the man was allegedly attacked from behind with a sharp object while he was buying something from a spaza shop on Saturday.

“He sustained multiple stab wounds to his back and was later certified dead on the scene,” added Sibiya.

The motive for the attack remains unknown.
