Cell C has network glitch

Cell C experienced a network glitch that resulted in some calls not going through when customers dialled a number on Friday morning, the company said.

“Cell C technicians have identified the problem affecting call set-up on the network — traffic management between our two major data centres was affected,” spokeswoman Vinnie Santu said in a statement.

“A resolution has been put in place and customers should already be seeing an improved experience. Full service will be restored shortly.”

The company apologised for the inconvenience, and said it would keep customers updated.
