Three men have been arrested near Mobeni Heights Cemetery in KwaZulu-Natal for drug possession.

Crime Intelligence Chatsworth, Chatsworth Cluster Task Team and the Durban Organised Crime Unit arrested the three drug suspects for the alleged possession of 1 000 straws of heroin on Thursday afternoon, Rising Sun Chatsworth reported.

It is believed police received information about the drugs that had been picked up from Bayview, in Chatsworth, KwaZulu-Natal and were being couriered to Stanger, also in KwaZulu-Natal.

They arrested the suspects, and they were detained at the Bayview police station.

In a separate incident, a 43-year-old man was arrested for possession of heroin in Unit 2, Chatsworth in January this year.

When members of police received information about a man who was dealing in heroin in the area, they acted on the information given and observed his house.

They swooped in the house and asked permission to search it. Upon searching, 1 000 straws of heroin worth a street value of R25 000 were found in the bedroom, police said.

The suspect was immediately arrested.
