A biker believed to be in his 30s died after being involved in an accident on the R24, about a kilometre away from the Krugersdorp Game Reserve, on Gauteng’s West Rand on Sunday afternoon.

According to Netcare 911, the biker collided with a car and fell off his motorcycle before being struck by another vehicle, Krugersdorp News reported.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and found the critically injured man lying on the road. He was then stabilised and placed on a ventilator before being transported to a nearby hospital. The biker later succumbed to his injuries.

In a separate incident, a 38-year-old biker died after colliding with a truck on South Coast Road, near Merebank Station, in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal last month.

According to Rescue Care spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, the man was found in critical condition by paramedics, while the driver of the truck sustained no injuries.

“Rescue Care’s advanced life support unit tried to stabilise the critically injured biker. However, he had sustained serious injuries, and despite all efforts, succumbed to his injuries on the scene,” Jamieson said.
