Bloemfontein – EFF MPs Andile Mngxitama, Mpho Ramakatsa, Khanyisile Litchfield-Tshabalala and Lucky Twala were suspended this week for bringing the party into disrepute.

Speaking at the “Save the Soul of the EFF” rally in Rocklands, outside Bloemfontein, today, Ramakatsa said: “We have raised our issues internally.

“The problem is that we are led by people who are arrogant, intolerant and think they own EFF.”

Ramakatsa accused the EFF leadership of continuing to make decisions that are not  legitimate.

“I do not have to agree, I’m not yes baas,” said Ramakatsa.

Litchfield-Tshabalala said what is happening in the EFF is happening in continent.

“EFF is slowly becoming a rebel movement,” said Litchfield-Tshabalala.

“We cannot sit here and praise cult leaders. We cannot have people driving Porsche while people are hungry.”

Mngxitama pleaded with EFF leader Julius Malema to apologise to party members for the way the national people’s assembly of last year at his which he was re-elected party leader was handled.

“Our president apologised to the madam (National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete) for calling her a cockroach but he must apologise for calling us lizards,” said Mngixitama.

The rally was seen by many as a litmus test by the rebel EFF MPs to gauge whether they have a support.
