Investigations are ongoing after a middle-aged man was found hanging from a tree in a bush between Unit 6 and 8 in Ga-Rankuwa, Pretoria.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Matthews Nkoadi said the unidentified man’s body was dangling from a green rope, Rekord North reported.

The man was wearing a floral jersey, a pair of jeans and black sneakers, added Nkoadi.

“He had no visible injuries, and his body was almost at the point of decomposing.”

Nkoadi added the cause of the death had not yet been confirmed.

Anyone with useful information on the matter can call the police on 08600-10111 or SMS Crime line on 32211.

In a separate incident, the body of a man was found hanging from a litchi tree in Redcliffe, Verulam, in KwaZulu-Natal, last month.

A passerby allegedly alerted a local security company, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), after discovering the body.

Head of RUSA Prem Balram confirmed a woman contacted the RUSA headquarters to report the suicide.

“Reaction officers and paramedics proceeded to the scene and found a man of Indian descent believed to be approximately 1.8 metres in height and attired in a blue check shirt and light brown jeans,” said Balram.

The identity of the deceased has been confirmed and his next-of-kin have been informed, added Balram.
