Two men have been caught on camera attempting to break into a house in Craighall Park, Johannesburg.

The video, posted by the chairperson of the Craigpark Residents’ Association, Ryan Roseveare, shows a white vehicle driving past and reversing to park near the property on January 29, Rosebank Killarney Gazette reported.

In the video, the two men wearing hoodies and caps exit the vehicle and linger outside the gate for several minutes, attempting to lift it open with what appears to be a crowbar.

Though the men did not successfully break into the property, Roseveare noted that the damage made needed repair.

No arrests have been made.

In a separate incident, a gang of burglars were caught on camera stealing goods from a Sunward Park home in Boksburg, Gauteng, last Wednesday.

In the video, the suspect’s car is seen parking in front of the victim’s house.

Shortly afterwards, one of the suspects is seen fiddling with the gate and eventually derails it with the help of his accomplice.

Three of the alleged suspects are then seen stealing what appears to be plasma screens and other goods worth R30 000.
