The body of a man found in Akasia, north of Pretoria, on Monday, has not been identified.

Police spokesperson Constable Reneilwe Makwalo said an inquest docket was opened to determine the circumstances surrounding the unidentified man’s death, Rekord North reported.

Makwalo added the cause of death had not been determined.

“There are some injuries to the man’s body, but we cannot confirm what caused the injuries,” said Makwalo.

“We can confirm that the body was not yet decomposed. We cannot confirm if there was a struggle, and we cannot confirm how the man died,” said Makwalo.

Investigations are ongoing.

In a separate incident, a 23-year-old man was found stabbed to death in Bluff, KwaZulu-Natal, last Wednesday.

The man was allegedly found by a passerby with multiple stab wounds to his body.

It is believed the deceased had succumbed to his injuries and died the moment an ambulance arrived.
