Police said the men, who were wounded in the shoot-out in the Bedford Centre, were arrested after two security guards and three customers were shot.
Gauteng provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Katlego Mogale said an AK-47 has been recovered at the scene.
Bedford Centre confirmed management is “investigating this horrific incident”.
Standard Bank said on Twitter: “We confirm that there was an incident at the Bedford Centre, staff & our customers were not affected. Branch is closed on account of this.”
Pick ‘n Pay said its store was “not targeted” in the shooting.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all injured in the incident.”
Those shot and wounded during the shooting remained in stable conditions at hospital, Bedfordview Edenvale News reported.
