The sentencing of Nyeleti Sithole was once again postponed during her appearance earlier this month.
This was as the court was still awaiting a report on her mental observation at Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital in September.
This was not the first time her sentencing had been postponed due to the absent report.
Sithole was arrested on April 5, two days after her 16-month-old son was found wandering along the highway outside Krugersdorp, on the West Rand.
The boy narrowly escaped being hit by a truck while walking along the busy road.
Sithole pleaded guilty to a charge of child abandonment and attempted murder. She was convicted in July.
