Two people were wounded in a shooting in Durban on Friday, paramedics said.

ER24 spokesman Pieter Rossouw said two construction workers were on their lunch break when armed men attacked them.

“One of the patients allegedly tried to unarm one of the men when a gunshot went off.

“One of the construction workers sustained moderate injuries when a bullet struck him in his arm. The other construction worker sustained critical head injuries after allegedly being struck by the same bullet,” he said.

The two were transported to hospital.
