No serious injuries reported in Jet Park factory fire

A factory fire at Reckitt Benckiser in Jet Park, near Boksburg on the East Rand has been contained, paramedics confirmed.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said no serious injuries had been reported.

“Paramedics treated a number of people for mild smoke inhalation at the scene,” he said.

“The exact cause of the fire remains unknown for now. Fire services are still on the scene.”

Motorists were warned that traffic was affected as roads in the area had been closed.

Multiple explosions in the area had been reported on Twitter, after black smoke was seen rising from the factory.
