She was reportedly stabilised at the hospital and later taken to Ethekwini Hospital in Durban, New Castle Advertiser reported.

Speaking to The Citizen, NFP secretary-general Nhlanhla Khubisa confirmed that Magwaza-Msibi had been hospitalised but could not provide any further details.

“As I understand, she was taken to a hospital for a routine check-up,” he said.

Sizwe Mchunu, provincial leader for the Democratic Alliance in KwaZulu-Natal expressed his deepest regret at the news.

“We wish her a speedy recovery and we hope her condition is not too critical,” he said. “We are very disturbed by this news and can only hope for her full recovery.”
