Durban man stabbed, dragged to death

Sydenham police are investigating the death of a man who suffered multiple stab wounds and died in Sherwood, Durban in KwaZulu-Natal.

Netcare911 spokesperson Chris Botha said paramedics arrived at West Riding Street in Sherwood and found the injured man, who later died of injuries sustained, Highway Mail reported.

Botha said the man had allegedly been dragged along the road.

“The injured man went into cardiac arrest shortly after paramedics arrived,” said Botha.

Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said the motive for the killing remained unknown.

In a separate incident, a 22-year-old University of KwaZulu-Natal student died after a botched smash-and-grab incident on Monday morning.

Shivaar Panday was believed to be a final year BComm student, who had been on his way to write a test at the university when the incident occurred.

Mayville police are investigating a case of murder.

In September, a KZN man was stabbed to death and robbed of his possessions in Amanzimtoti.

The unidentified 64-year-old had been killed and robbed on Beach Road in the area, police said

No arrests had been made.
